Coming up short is not considered a failure, it’s encouraged to teach students real-life scenarios (think Odysseus lander). “Students like the opportunity to try and try again,” True says. “We’re very much about persistence and endurance.” The Central Coast Mobile Fab Lab got its start in 2019, after Chevron worked with the Fab Foundation to provide funding to bring it to Monterey County.
